Your feet can

develop warts which are caused by the HPV virus also known as the human papilloma virus. Your feet can contract the HPV virus by touching the invisible bacteria on the bathroom floor and contracting the HPV virus. The HPV virus is what actually causes warts although you can contract the HPV virus and not develop warts

There are several different types of warts that you should be concerned about protecting your feet from. The four primary types of warts are common warts, filiform warts, flat worts, and plantar warts. These worts looks different but are all caused by contracting the HPV virus. These worts are ugly to look at and can be painful so it’s best to seek medical advice on how to remove them. Some warts will go away on their own without personal intervention but most warts require medication or doctor to remove them. There are several over-the-counter medications that are made with the intention to remove warts and are effective at doing so. A dermatologist might use liquid nitrogen to freeze the wort and it will fall off in the course of a few weeks. Warts are not generally life-threatening (they’re not cancerous) but are they are ugly to look at and can be bothersome. It is best that he speak to your doctor about what course of action to take when it comes to your particular wort(s).

One of the best ways to prevent contracting HPV virus and thus getting warts is to wear shower shoes while in the bathroom or at a public pool. The HPV virus lives in the moist environments where it thrives. Shower shoes prevent your feet from coming into direct contact with the virus. Simply wearing a pair of shower shoes like flip-flops, sandals, or water shoes can greatly reduce your chance of contracting HPV virus. If you don’t get the HPV virus is far less likely that you will develop warts. Shower shoes are cheap and go a long way to preventing infections like the HPV virus. I find that the best shower shoes are inexpensive and easy to put on and off. If they are convenient to put on and off you will find yourself wearing them more often.

Why Women Should Wear Shower Shoes

Shower Shoes

shower shoes

Keeping your feet looking smooth and supple all the time is nothing short of tricky as your feet is the one part of the body that is mostly taken for granted. In fact, you should even find a great shower shoes for women when taking a bath or a dip in the pool.

What are shower shoes?

As already said, shower shoes for women are carefully designed shoes that are made specifically for using on occasions when the feet may get wet. Ideally, these shoes are created from lightweight and snug material so that they do not become too heavy and burdensome when water is absorbed. Plus, the soles of the shoes are thick and should be made from high quality rubber in order to protect the soles of the feet. Likewise, these types of shoes allow air to flow freely so as to keep the feet dry and to let all the moisture escape immediately.

Why do you need shower shoes?

It isn’t unknown to many that fungus and bacteria loves to lurk in warm and moist areas of the body, like the feet for instance. That is why when going on a swimming trip or just simply taking a shower, you need to wear shower shoes. These shower shoes for women are so important as it helps prevent the cultivation and spreading of fungus and bacteria because unlike regular shoes, the moisture is not trapped inside shower shoes. At the same time, wearing a great pair will also lessen all the hazards like getting cuts from walking on rocky and sandy beaches. These are also used for specific reasons like preventing the wearer from slipping on wet surfaces.

Are there different types?

For those of you who are in search for a great pair of shower shoes for women, there are a few different types that you can choose from. One of the most common is the water socks. They are called socks because of their snug and comfortable fit on the feet. Plus, the material is also as flexible as a sock so that it contours to the shape of the feet. What makes it different from socks, however, is that it has sturdy but soft soles that helps keep the feet protected.

The flip flops are likewise great shower shoes that help keep the feet protected from bacteria and fungus that can be present on floor of public showers and toilets. Ideally, flip flops are made from quality rubber materials that are easy to dry and at the same time slip proof.

Other types of shower shoes include mesh slippers which are made from soft mesh to allow the quick draining of the water, as well as spa sandals which are commonly seen used in public spas.

Shower Shoes

Shower Shoes

shower shoes

Toenail fungus and athlete’s foot are both painful and disgusting to look at. People need to be more and more cautious about what environments they put their feet in. If not treated properly, foot fungus can lead to more serious medical issues possibly even death. It is extremely important that you do everything that you can to prevent the issue from occurring in the first place, as foot fungus can last an irritatingly long time. For example, one of the best and simplest ways to prevent foot fungus is by wearing shower shoes in the bathroom.

There are certain individuals that are more susceptible to foot fungus infections like those with poor blood circulation, older individuals, and males. If you smoke, have a poor immune system, or have diabetes, you are more susceptible to foot fungus problems. There are also certain individuals that just seem more likely to have foot fungus problems in general. These individuals probably also have other skin fungus issues as well. If you belong to any of these high-risk groups, take extra precaution with your feet.

There are certain things you can do to prevent toenail fungus and athlete’s foot like wearing looser and lighter shoes as to prevent your feet from becoming hot and sweaty. Also try not to share nail files, clippers, socks, or shoes with others as they could be infected. If you have severe problems with foot fungus, you might even consider moving to a cooler and dryer climate. One of the most important ways you can reduce your chances of contracting foot fungus is by wearing shower shoes in the bathroom and shower. Shower shoes can be as simple as a cheap pair of plastic flip-flops, and you should slip them on before going into the bathroom to keep your feet from touching the floor.

If you contract Athlete’s foot or toenail fungus, see your Doctor about the appropriate treatment, and once the infection has been cured, there are many ways to prevent it from reoccurring. Before bed you should wash your feet and dry them completely off. Also, you should get some wool or cotton socks and change them out a few times during the day. If you take these steps and also wear shower shoes in the bathroom, you greatly reduce your risk of the infection reoccurring.

If you want to buy a pair, I would recommend shopping here.

Why Men Should Wear Shower Shoes

Shower Shoes

shower shoes

The only real difference between men’s and women’s shower shoes is the color and style of the shoe itself. Even in community bathrooms at the gym or college dorm, men tend to not care about impressing others with fancy shower shoes. Shower shoes are meant to serve a strictly practical purpose.

The color of men’s shower shoes will most likely be black, blue, red or other typically male colors. Some men’s shower shoes will be sporty looking, but if guys are looking for a more “manly” type of shoe to wear in the shower, they should consider water shoes instead. However, shower shoes are meant to be easy to slip on and affordable, and water shoes are meant for outdoor water sports and can cost as much as regular shoes. For example, a basic pair of waterproof flip-flops or sandals (used as shower shoes) can cost as little as a few dollars; however, a pair of sporty water shoes can cost upwards of twenty or thirty dollars or even higher.

If you are looking for a brand name pair of shower shoes instead of cheap department store shoes, there are several popular brand manufacturers. Speedo, Adidas and Puma all make shower shoes for men. These are rubber and plastic shower shoes that are meant to have a strong grip in wet conditions to prevent slipping, and some of them have adjustable velcro straps for maximum comfort. These “brand name” shower shoes for men will last longer as they are manufactured with higher quality standards. They will also be a little more expensive and will cost in the twenty to thirty dollar range.

Where you can find shower shoes for men? You can find them at any local department store or shoe shop which will allow you to try the shoes on before purchasing them. Buying them at a local store will also make returning them easier if you find that they are slippery in wet conditions or uncomfortable. You can find them online at any of the popular stores like Ebay or Amazon where you will probably have a bigger selection and find cheaper prices but will not be able to tell how they fit your feet until they are shipped to you.

Use Non Slip Shower Shoes to Prevent Slipping in Bathroom

Shower Shoes

shower shoes

Communal bathrooms are used in many living situations where space is limited and multiple people need to share a restroom. This is what shower shoes are for, they are shoes you can wear while you shower and keep your feet from coming in contact with the often unsanitary, cold floor.

Places like gyms are prone to have foot fungus on the shower room floor because the people exercising are wearing socks and gather a lot of sweat. Naturally after their workout they head to the shower to wash off, and walk barefoot on the ground. This can cause the floor to be covered in all sorts of harmful fungi and bacteria. The bacteria along with the water normally make for a very sloppy and slimy floor. This is why non slip shower shoes were created: to allow you to navigate the shower without having to worry about slipping on the slick floor while also not having to worry about acquiring any sort of strange infection from the community that shares the shower.

Slipping in the shower can be dangerous, not only because the ground is normally hard in a shower, but because the floor is rarely sanitary. Landing on a gym or dorm shower floor could be a pretty gross experience, not to mention if you get hurt you are stranded without clothing in a public place. Also falling on solid floor is excruciatingly painful, and will likely lead to injury.

Non slip shower shoes tend to look like rubber flip flops a person would wear to the beach. They are waterproof, dry easily, and generally made of rubber and plastic. The non slip variety of shoes usually have some sort of treading on the bottom side to gain extra traction on the smooth floor. Not all non slip shoes for the shower are in the form of flip flops either, many take the form of sandals.

Most companies that make shoes also make a variety of shower shoes. The shoes come in different types as well, such as unisex, and gender specific. You also don’t have to wear your shoes solely for showering, you can wear them to the beach, pool, or any other place where you would normally wear flip flops. Just because they are non slip shower shoes doesn’t mean you have to only wear them in the shower.

Shower Shoes or Water Shoes for College?

Shower Shoes

shower shoes

The term “shower shoes” encompasses several different types of shoes that can be worn while in the bathroom to prevent your feet from becoming infected by the fungi

that live on the floor. Any type of shoe that is safe to wear in the bathroom and won’t be damaged by water could be considered a shower shoe. Shower shoes could be anything from rubber, mesh, and nylon shoes to a pair of plastic flip-flips. There are some shower shoes, however, that are made specifically for the bathroom. These shoes usually have strong grips that are made for wet environments to prevent slipping, and they often are made so that they are easy to slip on before entering the bathroom.

Shower shoes are not necessarily fashionable because they are not intended to be worn outside of the bathroom so it’s likely that no one would ever see you wearing them, but there are sporty and girly shower shoes made for those that use community bathrooms in your dorm or gym. Shower shoes are usually sought after because of how it easy it is to put a pair on before entering the bathroom. It’s easier to make a habit out of putting them on before you go into the bathroom when you just slip them on.

If you want something more fashionable than a basic pair of rubber or plastic shoes, I would suggest looking at water shoes. There is not much of a difference between shower shoes and water shoes except for the fact that water shoes are made to be worn outdoors. Water shoes tend to be sportier looking because they are intended to be worn during outdoor water sports. So if you are concerned about your appearance, you can always wear a pair of water shoes while you’re in the bathroom. Fortunately, both will protect your feet from fungus infections in wet environments.

So if you are looking to protect your feet in moist and humid environments like the bathroom, you have the option of a pair of shower shoes or a pair of water shoes. Shower shoes will be the more inexpensive option and you will have an easier time slipping them on and off before getting in the bathroom, but water shoes will be more durable, fashionable, and protective. If convenience is what is more important to you in protective footwear, go with shower shoes, and if you want something you could wear even outside of the bathroom, go with water shoes.

Shower Slippers are the Most Convenient Shower Shoes

Shower Shoes

shower shoes

Shower slippers are the most common form of shower shoes that all you need to do is slip on your feet before you walk into your bathroom. Shower slippers are semi-closed and do not protect the top of your feet as there is only a strap that goes over the top. What they do, most importantly, is prevent the bottom of your feet from coming in contact with potential fungi on your bathroom floor.

Flip-flops are one of the most common types of slippers and are named “flip-flops” because that’s they sound they make as you walk with them. If you are looking for a pair of shower slippers, I would recommend flip-flops as they are usually inexpensive and protect your feet from contracting athlete’s foot or toenail fungus. Go with a pair of plastic flip-flops because they are more water-resistant than leather flip-flops.

Mesh shower slippers are also a popular type of shower shoes. Unlike plastic flip-flops, these are specifically designed to be worn in the bathroom and shower along with other activities where you feet might touch water like camping or the beach. They usually have solid plastic bottoms and a stretchable nylon mesh top. They are also machine washable which keeps them free from fungus. Also, some might prefer mesh shower slippers to plastic flip-flops as mesh tends to be more comfortable. Another way they might be preferable to flip-flops is that the soles are designed to have a strong grip in wet conditions.

Regardless of whether or not you use plastic flip-flop or mesh shower slippers, you should know when you should wear them. Anytime your feet are going to come into contact with moist or humid conditions especially in foreign environments while traveling and staying in a hotel, or camping, you should wear shower slippers. Of course, if you struggle with athlete’s foot and toenail fungus, it is always advisable to see your doctor as he/she will offer the best advice on how to keep your feet safe from fungal infections. The price of shower slippers depends on what you are looking for. A cheap plastic pair of flip-flops could be a few dollars; a nice mesh pair of shower slippers could run up to fifty dollars. Try finding them online, or at your local department store.

Choosing a Pair of Water Shoes

Shower Shoes

shower shoes

Water shoes are similar to shower shoes in that they are both worn in wet environments to protect your feet. With shower shoes, usually a cheap pair of plastic flip-flops will suffice, but generally you want top quality water shoes that are durable, lightweight, and antibacterial. There are certain criteria you should use when buying water shoes.

The first criterion for purchasing water shoes is that they need to have a strong grip. In wet conditions, slipping is a major hazard so you will want to choose water shoes that have strong rubber soles that provide maximum traction. Some water shoes have soles specifically designed to move water away and keep the bottom of your shoes as dry as possible at all times. Read some of the product reviews and do some research to determine which pair of water shoes will have the strongest grip.

The next criterion for choosing the correct pair of water shoes is that need to be comfortable on dry land also. Remember, while you will be wearing the shoes primarily for wet conditions you will also be wearing them often on dry land. They need to be able to dry out fast as wearing wet shoes all day on dry land can cause fungus problems. When you are enjoying an outdoor day in the summertime, you do not want to be dealing with athlete’s foot or foot fungus.

The last and perhaps the most important area to consider when getting new water shoes is that they need to protect your feet from unseen hazards in the water. They need to fit your feet securely and protect your toes from being stubbed easily. Also, make sure the shoes are tough enough so that stepping on something sharp like a rock or limb underwater won’t damage your feet.

In summary, there are three main criteria to look at when picking out the best water shoes: strong traction, comfortable, and protective. There are outdoor and sporting forums where experienced sportsmen (and women) and outdoorsmen (and women) will vouch for a certain brand of water shoes that they have tried and tested. Also, most websites have product reviews that you can read through to see what others have experienced with that specific pair of water shoes.

What Prevents Athlete’s Foot Besides Shower Shoes?

Shower Shoes

shower shoes

As my readers might know, athlete’s foot is something I have dealt with all my life. I have basically learned that anytime my feet are in a moist environment either from

sweating or from the bathroom, there is potential for my feet to become infected. Even if you wear shower shoes 100% of the times that you are in the bathroom, you can still manage to get athlete’s foot fungus. Try regularly wearing light and breathable footwear and walking barefoot around your house as much as possible along with wearing shower shoes in the bathroom. This will significantly reduce the chances of contracting athlete’s foot

While it might be easier to prevent athlete’s foot while at home, traveling is a different story. If you travel often for work or pleasure, you must keep your feet protected at all times. Keep anti-fungal lotions and powders with you at all times to prevent breakout or to treat the symptoms of the fungus. New airport security rules make it difficult to carry these medications, but you should be allowed a small amount. Also you might want to consider wearing shoes other than flip flops or thongs when going through airport security as you will have to remove them during the check and you don’t want your bare feet touching where a lot of other’s bare feet have touched.

Hotel rooms are also scary places for your feet to be in. I would highly recommend never letting your feet touch any part of the hotel floor whether it’s in the bedroom area or in the bathroom. Make sure to use shower shoes in the bathrooms and when you get out of the shower or bath, make sure that your feet are completely dry before putting on your regular shoes. A light and cheap pair of flip flops would be ideal for traveling as they are convenient to travel with and to take on and off your feet.

As I mentioned earlier, light and breathable shoes will help keep your feet dry, but also make sure to wear breathable socks also. I think wool would be the best fabric for the socks as it will keep your feet dryer. Although it might seem paradoxical to wear wool socks to keep your feet dry from sweat, wool actually does a great job absorbing moisture which will keep fungus out of your feet and shoes. Also, I recommend taking some of that anti-fungal powder and putting a little into your socks before putting them on. The powder will absorb excess moisture and kill any potential fungi. The main thing is to be continually aware of the environment that your feet are in, and if you do that, you will drastically reduce the chances of getting athlete’s foot or toenail fungus.

Athlete’s Foot is Prevented with Shower Shoes

Shower Shoes

shower shoes

Athlete’s foot is a medical condition that can be prevented with the use of shower shoes. They are the ones that are most at risk to contract athlete’s foot so any athlete should strongly consider wearing shower shoes while in the locker room. Bathrooms and showers are most at risk for fungi to grow and spread because of the moist, cool, and dark environment. Once the fungi get onto your feet, they thrive because they are in dark, moist shoes. Athlete’s foot is preventable by both keeping the bathroom clean and wearing shower shoes.

Athlete’s foot otherwise known as Tinea pedis is most likely to form on the very bottom of your feet, near your toes. The fungus that causes athlete’s foot flourishes in sweaty shoes. The reason we encourage the use of shower shoes is so that the fungus never make it to your feet in the first place; fortunately, athlete’s foot in not considered serious and can be managed through the use of topical medications. The first signs that you might have contracted athlete’s foot are a rash occurring on the bottom of your feet that itches like crazy and a burning sensation. Although athlete’s foot is usually not very serious, if the fungi manage to enter your bloodstream through the blisters on your feet, there could be a serious risk to your health. If you have ever contracted athlete’s foot, it is likely that you will get it again so we strongly encourage the prevention of athlete’s foot through the use of shower shoes.

Like I said earlier, if you happen to get athlete’s foot, it is usually not serious and can easily be treated especially if caught early; unfortunately, serious complications can occur if not detected soon enough. Usually anti-fungal pills are not an effective treatment for athlete’s foot as the medication cannot reach the areas that need to be treated through the bloodstream. The best treatments are usually creams and sprays that are anti-fungal. Combine an anti-fungal cream with an ointment that will help with the itching and burning and you will get over athlete’s foot quickly and feel a lot better. If you go to the doctor he/she might prescribe you some aluminum acetate to help treat the fungal infection. The main thing you should understand after all of this, is that having athlete’s foot is not a pleasant experience and can lead to serious health problems. The best solution for you is to buy a pair of cheap shower shoes and wear them while taking a shower or even walking into any bathroom.
